Tuesday, August 1. 2006Road-Trip Day 9“We're in Almería, after going through rural Spain (boring). No news...” We drove south from Barcelona until we couldn't drive anymore, hitting Almería (المراية). The Spanish countryside down the coast is essentially very dusty and full of bugs. So many bugs in fact, that when we pulled over to a small petrol station, the owner came out and helped us clean the windshield using a strong broom! Almería is a small port town with not much happening from what we saw. The area around Almería is mostly agricultural, with tonnes of vegetables being grown under makeshift greenhouses. They do, however, have the world's largest Geode (essentially a giant crystal cave), but it's not yet open to the public, which is a real shame. Trackbacks
